Baroness Barbara Young has been a Member of House of Lords since 1997. She has served as Chief Executive of Diabetes UK in 2010-2015. Before joining Diabetes UK, Barbara was involved in the establishment of Care Quality Commission. Apart from healthcare, she is interested in environmental issues – she has served as Chief Executive of the Environmental Agency in 2000-2008. At Prague International Health Summit 2016, Barbara talked about the impact of chronic diseases on societies and their responses to this global issue.
