The 5th International Health Summit on the topic of „Population Ageing and Chronic Diseases Management: Challenges for Health Reforms" was hold in Prague June 24–26, 2010.
160 delegates from 14 countries gathered to discuss issues related to financing of long term care and innovative care models in the area of chronic diseases.
Keynote speakers included James Rice – vicepresident The Governance Institute in USA, Martin De Villiers, CEO - ICON, a managed care organization in the field of oncology, South Africa, James D. Cross, Head of National Medical Policy and Operations – AETNA in USA, Andrew Vallance-Owen, Medical Director of the hospitals division of BUPA, UK, Roland Eisen, Professor of Economics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt am Main and other distinguished speakers.
The International Health Summit in Prague confirmed its status as a leading health policy and management event in Central and Eastern Europe. Feedback from participants was highly positive. They valued especially diversity of participants, atmosphere of mutual trust and open exchange of ideas between providers, payers, patient representatives and suppliers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and ICT services.
